Howard Miller learned the fine art of clockmaking from his father in the Black Forest region of Germany. He founded the Howard Miller Clock Company in 1926 when he was only 21 years old. Since then the company has maintained its high quality of clockmaking, beginning in the early years with the manufacture of chiming and mantel clocks. Later, in the 1960's, they focused their attention on Grandfather Clocks and were so successful that they earned the title, "The World's Largest Grandfather Clock Company."
